Farm Girl Winny......Writes About Raining Puddles

It’s Raining Puddles

Hey, people who read my aunt’s website! Today in Dutchess County it’s raining.
And the animals on the farm that like rain are so happy! (A.K.A. the ducks and
the pigs.) Anyway the rain is coming from the north so my parents and I can
watch the rain from the porch. It’s thundering so much—I bet they can hear it in
New York City.

All the dogs, three standard poodles, are wet and that's why I can’t let them in the house. At least now they aren’t barking at thunder! Fiji’s hair is hanging straight down and limp, Max’s mohawk is pasted to his skull, and Scipio’s hair
is plastered all over his body. Mom doesn’t want them in the house because then
they might go in her bed, or make puddles in the living room.

Hi, again. The thunderstorm is over and there was almost no lightning! Can you believe it, a thunderstorm with no lightning? The ducks are still happy, I can hear them from my room! I know they are happy because they make a lot more
noise. They also look muddier because they play in their pen, sliding around in
the mud. The pigs don't even get me started on them! When they’re happy the run
around in their pen, an every once in awhile they make a snorting noise, but
very carefully, as if they are afraid that snorting might take away from their
happiness.

Another good thing about the rain is that everything is green! Even the
grass—which was starting to turn brown! My mom’s garden is flourishing. The
snapdragons—my favorite flower—are almost three feet tall and mom’s fraise du
bois looks like it needs to be picked for berries again.

Peace to ya,

Farm Girl
