Marmalade Strikes, Bindi2 Assists

It was bound to happen.  You mix cats and birds and the outdoors and sooner or later, no matter how well-behaved the cats are....

Marmalade and Bindi2 needing to just get out and experience a spring day, seized their opportunity.  Farms being farms, this one has chickens and bird feeders for the hummingbirds, finches, cardinals, blue jays etc. that come to visit cats and all.little_bird.jpg  Marmalade exhibiting his prowess, had his eye on a small bird and waited for an opportunity.  Bindi2 knowing what Marmalade had on his mind, stayed close by to"help."  Unfortunately, the sweet bird gave the cats their opportunity.  Blair also noticed what was going on and was fortunately faster and scooped up the bird who was a bit worse for wear.

The bird was put in a cage to heal and mend and after two days seemed ready to take flight.  Blair let the bird go not wanting to keep it caged unnecessarily.  Marmalade the sharp cat that he is was immediately underfoot with Bindi2 not far behind.  The bird took flight and unfortunately fell flat on its face right at the paws of the cats.  Suffice it to say that Marmalade's appetite was alleviated for days.

Now some may wonder why tell this sad story.  The truth is it is sad, but since this web site is about life on an experimental farm and the web site itself is an experiment, we made an executive decision and decided to share it.  We hope it doesn't upset too many people.  As always, if you have comments about any of our stories, please feel free to contact us at info@littlehousefarm.com.
